As the Managing Director of Goodtaste Training and Education, Michael Gelb has many years of operational and administrative experience in the hospitality industry, corporate consultancy, hospitality training and business management. He is an accredited Trainer with Tourism Training Victoria and has tertiary qualifications in Hospitality Management.

In his 20 years in the hospitality industry, Michael has had hands on experience in operations, management and new business development. In the process, he has worked in several locations in both South East Asia and within Australia.

Before starting Goodtaste Training and Education (formally The Good Taste Company), Michael was General Manager of Food and Beverage at Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia. This position involved management of over 1,000 employees, 7 bars, 6 restaurants, 4 snack bars and major kitchen operations.

At Crown's Southbank complex, Michael was pivotal in the planning and concept development, including development of budgets, marketing plans, recruitment and hospitality training. Before joining Crown, Michael had over 8 years in senior management for Hyatt International Hotels in Melbourne, Adelaide, Hong Kong and Sanctuary Cove, Queensland.

Goodtaste Training and Education is a firm specialising in professional and comprehensive training and consulting services to the hospitality industry. It was awarded the 1998 Micro Business Awards Highly Commended Award category in the State of Victoria.

Michael is the complete catering and hospitality professional, having first hand experience of every aspect of the industry from kitchen operations through to the financial structures involving the unique dynamics of the provision of food and beverage.
