Hospitality Short Courses

As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) we have a wide range of affordable and fully accredited short courses to secure a job or advance your career. In fact, hospitality training is our speciality because in 1997 we started out as purely a hospitality training company and then expanded to include other industries. Our most popular short courses are ‘RSA in a Day’ Responsible Service of Alcohol, and Responsible Service of Food (RSF).

› MadCap 4 Day Barista Course (4th - 7th June 2012) - MADCAP
Course Duration 28 hours

Unleash your inner Barista! Many people think making great coffee is simple, but at our Dandenong Training Centre we don't just teach you how to make coffee as our goal is for you to take pride in making THE greatest cup of Coffee EVER! Yes it's a big claim, but life's too short to make bad coffee!

The 4 Day Barista Course runs from Monday to Thursday and includes nationally recognised and accredited units. This course can also include a 3 hour work experience component at one of the MadCap Cafes located in Dandenong or Fountain Gate.

› Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) - SITHFAB009A
Course Duration 4 hours

This course is the approved Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) Responsible Service of Alcohol Course. The Certificate of Completion is issued ON THE SAME DAY in our Carlton training centre on successful completion of the assessments. For the Dandenong Centre, Certificates will be posted within one week of course completion. The RSA short course provides you with the knowledge and awareness necessary to responsibly serve alcohol in licensed premises in a pub, café, club, hotel, restaurant, airline or bottle shop. The RSA short course is suitable for hospitality and bar staff, flight attendants and security officers.

The Provide Responsible Gambling Services (RSG) course has been designed by front line industry professionals so you can develop the skills and knowledge required to detect, and if necessary assist a problem gambler. We provide the most current and up-to-date relevant RSG training from gaming industry professionals who stay in touch with current trends and practices. Statements of attainment are issued on successful completion of the RSG short course.

Course Duration 5 hours

A Food Safety Supervisor - Follow Workplace Hygiene Procedures and Implement Food Safety Procedures (FSS) - has advanced food handling skills and knowledge, including the ability to supervise food operations to ensure food safety and hygiene standards are achieved and maintained at all times. This course includes the pre-requisite Food Handlers unit as well.

This is a recommended course if you are considering a career in industries, including hospitality and retail.
