Building on your Certificate III in Hospitality, the Certificate IV in Hospitality furthers your career by giving you the skills and knowledge to carry out supervisory and leadership related tasks such as overseeing the operation of a bar, restaurant, coffee shop, front desk or reception. You’ll also learn about providing stock ordering and control, budgeting and financial control, and supervising and managing gaming operations. Certificate IV in Hospitality is a pre-requisite for further hospitality studies including the
Diploma of Hospitality and
Advanced Diploma of Hospitality.

Description
As with Certificate III, this aspect of studies covers both disciplines in hotels, rooms division and food and beverage Certificate IV represents a qualification that is based on more sophisticated technical applications involving competencies requiring increased theoretical knowledge, applied in a non-routine environment and which may involve team leadership and management and increased responsibility for outcomes.
The qualification will help the participant to intimately understand and have the knowledge and skills to work in the following areas of a hotel, resort, restaurant or casino.

Assessment
To receive the qualification, participants are required to successfully complete all units of competency. A qualification will be issued, based on the successful assessments of all units of competency.
Entry Requirements
English language skills test and literacy and numeracy assessment at pre-enrolment of the course.
If you are a resident of Victoria and an Australian citizen or Permanent resident, you may be eligible for a subsidised place under the Victorian Training Guarantee. For eligible individuals, this training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government Funding.
